Design and Gameplay

Plunge beneath the surface of the ocean to find what treasures the depths of the waters can offer a risk taker such as yourself. What you discover on the ocean floor is treasure to match your wildest dreams. You know are swimming in the Jewel Sea.

Jewel Sea is a normal video slot game by Fugaso that does not do anything outstanding or noteworthy. It is average on every level, but that does not mean that it won’t appeal to some players who are not into fancy themes and over the top bonuses. Jewel Sea doesn’t stray away from the classic 3 x 5 reel and 10 fixed payline format.

Graphically Jewel Sea does many things right and some wrong. For instance, the treasure is very well drawn as is the light in the water. The little bubble or fish animations are a welcome touch. However, there is some to be desired, since this is an industry that is continuously expanding. What stands out is the soothing music. Calming and serene it is, reminding you of serene experiences that you have felt in the past. It’s great stuff.

The iconography fits the setting, but we felt that the imagery of the symbols was somewhat generic and barely thought of.

Bonuses

Aside from the design, the game is shallow on bonus features. But again, many players find this better than having many distracting bonuses and accompanying animations.

Serving as the only bonus element of any sorts, the Wild symbol acts as substitute for all symbols. It appears on the second, third and fourth reel. The Wild expands over the reel and triggers a respin, with a maximum of 3 respins.

We believe that games need to add as much content as possible, since audiences get more spoiled with time, and are expecting an overflow of content.

Conclusion

Jewel Sea is simplistic and old school. It reminds us of simpler times when players sat and took risks with no expectations of hyperbolic animations and overindulging bonus content. However if one wished to survive one must adapt.
